In 2007 Wet Cookies released their debut album "Earthling", which effectively blended Jazz with elements of Dub and Electronic music. Now in 2008 the Wet Cookies Collective has just completed their second album "Soul Protection" and as the title already suggestes the focus has shifted from Jazz to New Soul. The main part of the album consists of original songs which are complemented by a cover version and two remixes (i.e. Cameo’s "Word up" and Ken Boothe’s "When I Fall In Love").
"Soul Protection" also showcases five singers, who were chosen by producers and bandleaders Bjoern Klein and Axel Hirn for their unique sound and vibe. The arrangements vary from subtle Jazz Ballads to lush Wall of Sound uptempo tracks, all played by a group of wonderfull musicians comprising a brass section, vibraphone and double bass for an extra low end.
The release date is still to be announced.....watch this space !
